Blusher Ignite The Airwaves With New Speed With 'Racer'

Australian pop sensations Blusher have dropped their latest track, 'Racer', a high-octane anthem signalling a fresh direction for the trio. Released via Warner Music Australia, the song is already making waves, having been teased during their support slots for Sugababes' Australian tour. This new single sees them dial up the intensity, blending their signature electronic sound with irresistibly catchy pop melodies.

"Being a Racer means being your own stunt person, the main character of your own life," the band explained. "It’s being the person to start the dance floor while the rest of the party is worrying about what people think." The inspiration for 'Racer' came from a spontaneous late-night adventure in Los Angeles. "The song was written the morning after we went to a secret rave in downtown LA. We danced under a bridge and watched as people lit off fireworks from its highest point. The next day, sleep deprived and inspired, we bottled that feeling of euphoria and Racer was born."

The band hopes the track will resonate with listeners looking for an empowering boost. "We want Racer to be the song that people turn up loud when they’re feeling sad or stressed, that helps them strut into the most unfazed, unstoppable, fastest version of themselves. It’s ultimately about our friendship and how we bring out the Racer in each other."

Currently, Blusher are touring North America with Swedish duo NOTD, and are set to perform at the Coca-Cola Sip And Sounds Festival in Austin, sharing the stage with major acts like Halsey and Khalid. Their extensive live experience includes supporting tours with Tove Lo, Aurora, and Dadi Freyr, as well as performances at prestigious events like London Pride and BST Hyde Park. Their sold-out debut Australian headline tour in December 2024 solidified their growing fanbase.

'Racer' follows a string of successful releases in 2024, including 'Somebody New', which reached #47 on the airplay chart, along with 'Overglow', '24 Hours in Paris', and 'Rave Angel'. These releases build upon their 2023 debut EP, 'Should We Go Dance?', and have collectively garnered over 14 million global streams.

Blusher's unique dynamic, where all three members share vocal duties, switch instruments, and contribute to writing and production, sets them apart. Their music, blending dreamy synths with impactful basslines, captures a balance between intimate moments and dancefloor energy.
