Sydney's Grid Unveils Emotive Debut Single 'Go Easy'

Emerging from Sydney's vibrant music scene, Perth-born singer-songwriter and producer Grid presents her debut single, 'Go Easy', a captivating track that blends alternative pop with classical, electronic, and experimental influences. The result is a unique and eclectic sound that sets Grid apart.

'Go Easy' is characterized by delicate piano melodies, dramatic string interludes, psychedelic audio effects, and emotionally charged lyrics that resonate with the listener on a deeply personal level. Grid shares, "It feels amazing to finally share these songs that are so special to me - it's so daunting and so exciting at the same time, and 'Go Easy' feels like the perfect introduction to this project."

The song delves into the complexities of a past relationship, exploring themes of guilt and remorse. Grid explains, "I wrote 'Go Easy' roughly two years ago when I was going through a break-up. The song represents the guilt and remorse I was feeling when I broke up with this person, and the idea that I still wanted this person to think well of me and not hate me for it, because otherwise I would be crushed. It's a selfish thing because I knew I probably deserved that."

Grid's musical influences, including Tame Impala, Lana Del Rey, and Electric Light Orchestra, are evident in her work, which seamlessly merges classic and modern elements to create a rare sonic landscape. Her background as a classically trained pianist and her experience as a DJ have culminated in the artistic vision she embodies as Grid.

Formerly known as Griddy, she has graced the stage alongside renowned international electronic acts like DJ BORING, honeyluv, Loods, and Subjoi. Her performances have taken her from her hometown of Perth, where she headlined events like MVMNT and Loveless, to major festivals such as Wine Machine and Here Comes The Sun. Grid has also entertained crowds at Thredbo Alpine Resort with artists like Stace Cadet, Set Mo, and Happiness Is Wealth. More recently, she showcased her talent at Sydney's iconic Glass Island, DJing for POOLCLVB's record label, LOVE CLVB.

As a recipient of APRA AMCOS' 23% Mentorship program, Grid has been working closely with Australian singer-songwriter, producer, and radio personality KLP, further refining her craft. With 'Go Easy' marking a significant milestone in her musical journey, Grid is poised to make waves in 2025, promising more ground-breaking music and an eagerly anticipated debut live show.
