Great Gable, the indie-rock powerhouse hailing from Western Australia, continues to delight fans with their latest release, 'Think Again, Motherf*cker', following the success of 'Best Friend'. This summer-soaked anthem, produced by Dave Parkin, is another gem in their repertoire, boasting festival-ready hooks that echo the band's relentless growth and evolution.
"Even before writing the lyrics, I’d already named the track ‘Think Again, Motherfucker’. I stumbled across an old demo that wasn’t anything special but the beat was killer. So I said to myself, 'think again motherfucker.'" says lead vocalist Alex Whiteman of the track.
The band's trajectory shows no signs of slowing down, with a 15-date headline tour slated for May and June across the UK and EU, joined by Death By Denim, Ryan Edmond, and Matija. This international stint follows successful tours in New Zealand and performances at Summersalt Festival earlier this year.
Since the release of their EP 'Read The Room' in 2023, Great Gable, comprising Alex Whiteman, Matt Preen, Christopher Bye, and Madi Hanley, has been on an upward trajectory. The EP showcased their penchant for live performances, evident in sold-out national tours and support slots for industry heavyweights like Matt Corby.
Their musical journey traces back to their university days in Perth, where childhood friends Alex and Matt, bonded over a shared love for artists like Jack Johnson and Bon Iver. Early EPs such as "GG," "Modern Interactions," and "Lazy Bones Tapes" set the stage for their distinctive blend of NYC rock, UK indie, and Australian summer vibes.
With their debut album 'Tracing Faces' in 2020, Great Gable solidified their presence in the indie scene, amassing millions of streams and gracing renowned festivals like Groovin The Moo and Falls Festival. Their impressive support slots alongside acts like The Jungle Giants and Ocean Alley further cemented their status as rising stars.
'Best Friend' and 'Think Again, Motherf*cker' offer a glimpse into Great Gable's musical evolution, hinting at more exciting releases in 2024. Fans eagerly await what promises to be another stellar chapter in the band's journey. Stay tuned for more from this dynamic quartet.
