Hollow Coves unveil long awaited sophomore album 'Nothing To Lose'

Hollow Coves' path to their second studio album, 'Nothing To Lose', has been a journey of self-discovery and creative renewal. Matt Carins and Ryan Henderson craft heartfelt, indie-folk music that resonates with audiences worldwide. Nothing To Lose builds upon their established sound with richer storytelling and diverse influences, fueled by their impressive 1 billion streams, 200 million YouTube views, and 2.4 million Shazams.

Produced by Matt Corby (Budjerah, Sia, Tash Sultana) at Rainbow Valley Studios, Nothing To Lose features singles like 'Photographs' and 'See You Soon'. The album weaves together stories that deeply resonate with Carins and Henderson.

The band shared, “After these co-writes ended up going so well and us being stoked with the direction it was going in, we all thought it would be great to work on the whole album together. Ryan and I also had a bunch of other songs that were already written from our own studio in Currumbin Valley. With Matt Corby producing the whole record and playing drums, Bass and other instruments, it definitely brought out a different colour/flavour to our music.”

“Going into this album, we wanted to challenge ourselves creatively and get into a space where we didn’t put too much pressure on the songs. To do this, we both decided we’d just write separately and add songs to our dropbox. If there were any of the songs that we both resonated with then we would work on finishing them together. We also wanted to make this album a little differently from our previous work to help our live show have more energy and vibe to it."

As Hollow Coves explain, 'Nothing To Lose' is an opportunity for them as the artists, as well as the listener, to take a beat – unwind and try to switch off for a moment. In a world where so much of our media and cultural consumption is based around toxicity and negativity, Hollow Coves are aiming to provide an avenue of escape and nurturing for all those seeking it.

The band continued, “The whole record is based on our personal experiences of trying to slow down and realise that living simply is the best for our souls. The world is in such a rush these days and with that there’s a lot of stress and anxieties. Our lifestyle from living on the Gold Coast and having such a great community made us naturally write about topics that will hopefully inspire the listener to think about what’s actually important to them.”

The release of 'Nothing To Lose' kicks off Hollow Coves' extensive world tour, reuniting them with fans across Europe, the UK, North America, Canada, and Australia. With electrifying performances at festivals like Osheaga, La Cigale, Pukkelpop, Boardmasters, NYE On The Hill, Lost Lands, and Woodford Folk Festival, Hollow Coves are poised as one of Australia's most exciting live acts.
