Pixia Evokes '80s Nostalgia and Self-Empowerment with 'Wonderland'

London's alt-pop innovator, Pixia, continues her impressive streak of releases with 'Wonderland', her ninth single. Since her emergence in 2021, she has carved a creative niche with her unique sonic blend and undeniably modern style. 'Wonderland' is no exception, delivering an empowering message wrapped in a cinematic soundscape.

Inspired by icons like Kate Bush, CHVRCHES, Aurora, and Lana Del Rey, Pixia's latest offering weaves a tale of vulnerability and acceptance. "There’s definitely a lot of pressure right now with social media... you always feel like you’re not doing enough," she reflects. Throughout, Pixia channels these feelings into 'Wonderland', aiming to reassure listeners, and even her younger self, that despite the doubt, they're exactly where they need to be.

The song's sonic landscape is a nostalgic joyride. Euphoric synths and '80s-inspired beats create a dynamic backdrop – picture a late-night drive through a neon-lit cityscape or a vibrant sunset over the metropolis. Pixia's signature ethereal vocals infuse the track with a sense of comfort and quiet power.

“I wanted to write something I would show my younger self throughout the years to reassure her that you’re on the right path, you’re doing what you love, it’s going to be okay," says Pixia. "Honestly, I still need this reassurance most days so the song is such a comfort to me."

'Wonderland' is an anthem for anyone battling self-doubt. Pixia's music offers a sonic escape, a reminder that amidst the pressures of a fast-paced world, we must honour our journeys and embrace our unique paths.
