The Mysterines Unleash Electrifying New Single 'The Last Dance' Ahead of Their New Album

Merseyside rockers The Mysterines have today dropped their exhilarating new track, 'The Last Dance', the third single from their hotly anticipated album, 'Afraid of Tomorrows', set to hit shelves on June 21st via Fiction Records.

A whirlwind of frenetic guitar solos and pounding drums, 'The Last Dance' explores the solace found in fantasy. Frontwoman Lia Metcalfe's vivid imagination takes centre stage, narrating a tale of a love affair with a porcelain mannequin and the yearning to dance together.

Metcalfe explains, "'The Last Dance' is an analogy for what loneliness can do to you. Once you've exhausted all the dark alleyways of drugs and alcohol, you end up reaching for something to connect to that isn't real."

The Liverpool quartet, comprising Metcalfe, drummer Paul Crilly, bassist George Favager, and guitarist Callum Thompson, has undergone a significant metamorphosis in recent years. Refreshed and reinvigorated from songwriting retreats in the countryside amidst sold-out shows supporting Arctic Monkeys, the band is poised to deliver their most potent work to date.

Recorded and produced in LA by Grammy-winning producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen), 'Afraid of Tomorrows' delves deeper into the band's psyche than its predecessor, reflecting their growth and maturity. Metcalfe describes the album as "a mirror where you find you're nothing more than a formless being... of traumas, mistakes, addiction, fear, and happiness, but ultimately a desire for life and the fight to keep living."

The Mysterines are set to embark on their most extensive headline tour yet, kicking off in Dublin on October 18th and culminating in Paris on November 8th, with a stop at London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.

The band's summer schedule is packed with exciting shows, including a special guest appearance at Bloc Party's 20th anniversary show at Crystal Palace Park on July 7th, and numerous festival slots across the UK and Europe.
