Emerging from the Danish music scene, Wads, the new solo project of Phlake frontman Mads Bo, has dropped his debut single, 'Come Here'. This track is a vibrant invitation to shed inhibitions and embrace the unknown.
"'Come Here' is about daring to take initiative," explains Wads. "It's about trusting that following your own instincts might just lead to something extraordinary. To me, it represents the feeling of achieving the unattainable."
The song marks a significant turning point for the artist. While Phlake enjoyed widespread success, topping charts and touring Europe with their infectious R&B-pop sound, Mads Bo found himself grappling with personal struggles.
"I felt space-sick," he confesses. "Like I was waving at people from a distance, speaking through a glass helmet with distorted sound. It's weird how you often have to lose yourself to reconnect with the basics, and it was in this space I realised I needed to come back to Earth and create a planet of my own."
This new planet is Wads, a project born from a need for grounding amidst the chaos. However, 'Come Here' is anything but grounded. The track pulses with an energetic, electronic vibe, showcasing a bold new direction for the artist. Wads takes his soulful vocals into a raw, unfiltered soundscape, stripping away the noise to rediscover the essence of his artistry.
'Come Here' is the first taste of what's to come from Wads' upcoming album, slated for release in the autumn of 2025. This debut single is an exciting glimpse into the next chapter of Mads Bo's musical journey, and it leaves us eagerly anticipating what he'll create next.
