A band who have been kicking up the dust in Mogareeka, Australia, Scared Of Sharks has recently released their latest single, '2nd Jingle Idea'. A dynamic cut spiked with '60s garage rock sounds, the track has been a staple of the band's live sets since late 2022, but now, it's getting the official release it deserves.
The song is a vibrant mix of garage rock, proto-punk, classic punk rock, post-punk, rock ‘n’ roll, and power pop, showcasing Scared Of Sharks' ability to seamlessly blend genres while staying true to their roots. Schwifty's powerful vocals and intricate guitar work are complemented by driving basslines and energetic drumming, creating a rich and dynamic sound.
Recorded in mid-2023 at Noise Machine Studios with producer Radi Safi and engineer Tim McArtney, '2nd Jingle Idea' was then mastered by Owen Penglis, giving it that final touch that hits so effortlessly hard.
"I wrote 2nd Jingle idea one arvo when I was back down in Mogareeka after listening to nothing but You Am I for a coupla days. Wouldn’t say it’s about anything specific, with the verses covering different things to the chorus’ and a fair amount of nonsense scattered throughout. So I guess it’s one of those songs that’s up for interpretation,” guitarist and vocalist Taylor Schwifty shared.
'2nd Jingle Idea' is an exhilarating follow-up to their previous single, 'Ode To Rose St,' and is sure to appeal to fans of garage rock and beyond. The single is available now on all streaming platforms.
A testament to Scared Of Sharks' creativity and musicianship, and a must-listen for any fan of captivating and energetic rock music, '2nd Jingle Idea' is an absolute belter that deserves to be heard.
