Born from a one-minute voice note, ‘alltimefan’ is the latest single from ioakim

A continuation of his indie-pop bop, ‘alex’, ioakim is back with his latest single, ‘alltimefan’. Born from a one-minute voice note, ‘alltimefan’ is filled with cascading guitars and a thrumming bass underscore. Produced and co-written with Day Wave, ‘alltimefan’ showcases ioakim’s innate skill for making his personal and intimate experiences feel completely universal.

On the track, ioakim shared, “‘alltimefan’ was the first song I made in LA with Jackson Phillips (Day Wave) in 2022. It is about drawing up a preconceived idea of someone before you have met them. There’s a lot you can know about someone before you meet them in real life so you have a pretty good idea if you’re going to get along. This song ended becoming reality a month or so later. Life is weird”.

‘alltimefan’ follows on from ‘alex’ and 2023 singles, ‘eight’ feat. LORA and ‘backseat’. His 2022 debut EP, 'feel something or nothing at all' showed the South-Coast producer and songwriter open up how he navigates the trials and tribulations of young adulthood and matters of the heart. In celebration of the EP, ioakim performed headline shows in both Sydney and Melbourne, following on from his support slots earlier in the year for both MAY-A and flowerkid. In March 2023, ioakim co-headlined tour dates with LORA and Friends of Friends, had support slots with Eliza and The Delusions and The Buoys and finished off the year with a fundraiser alongside Egoism and Jet City Sports Club.

ioakim’s art spans beyond music, curating his artistic vision with fashion and graphic design as extensions of his musical DNA. Whether its writing, producing, directing all of his videos to date, designing all of the artwork and also designing, screen printing and selling out all of his own merch from upcycled vintage, ioakim’s multi-disciplinary talents have allowed his artistic vision to never be compromised. Having grown up on a musical feast of indie greats like MGMT, Two Door Cinema Club, The Strokes, and heart-on-sleeves songwriters like John Mayer, ioakim’s songs can be big emotional gut punches hidden within head-rushing pop-rock arrangements – or delicate, shoegazey-watercolour paintings that hold the listener close.

A holistic creative in every sense, ioakim creates sonic time capsules filled with both breathtaking intensity and thoughtful contemplation. Tune in and bliss out to ‘alltimefan’ today and keep your eyes peeled for more to come from ioakim in 2024.
