Cosmo’s Midnight are back with a new collaboration with London-based duo Franc Moody.

Following on from their team up with Forest Claudette on ‘Borrowed Time’, Cosmo’s Midnight are back with a new collaboration in ‘Fantasy’ with London-based duo Franc Moody.

‘Fantasy’ connects the quintessential elements of Cosmo’s Midnight’s addictive sound. Blending funky basslines, stacked falsettos and body-moving melodies, this latest team up with Franc Moody commands audiences to simply stop and enjoy. As seen in the accompanying music video, directed by Jason Tran, ‘Fantasy’ is an alluring and freeing dance anthem.

Cosmo’s Midnight on the single, “’Fantasy’ came about really naturally with the Franc Moody boys, they add so much instrumental richness and detail. The song is a feverish dreamlike funk jam about losing yourself to the experience of music. Thanks John and Ned for being the funky ying to our stanky yang, When listening; stop thinking and start feeling!”

Franc Moody spoke about the single, sharing, “'After meeting Pat and Cosmo early last year in London they DM’d over the beginnings of an idea they were working on, asking if we’d like to collaborate on it. We set about throwing the FM kitchen sink at it…vocal stacks, squitty synths, and all sorts of general funk apparatus. When we were happy we sent it back for them to sculpt into the record you hear today . Lots of love to Pat and Cosmo for having us onboard for this one!”.

‘Fantasy’ follows on from Cosmo’s recent collaborations, ‘Borrowed Time’ feat. Forest Claudette and ‘Gimme Some More’ feat. Shungudzo. Collectively, these singles marked the first taste of new music since their 2022 singles ‘Bang My Line’ featuring Tkay Maidza and ‘Can’t Do Without My Baby’. Prior to this, the pair released their ARIA-nominated sophomore album Yesteryear, following on from their critically acclaimed debut album, What Comes Next. Additionally, the duo have collaborated with artists such as KUČKA, BAYNK, Yung Bae and many more, culminating in a whopping half a billion streams across their entire catalogue. Beyond their own music, the pair have worked with an incredible line-up of talent, having produced for global superstars BTS on ‘Fly To My Room’ as well as remixes for the likes of Flume, HONNE, Goldlink and more.

The transformative feeling that has permeated Cosmo’s Midnight’s music over the years has been reflected in the growth of the duo as a performance unit; dominating sold out stages in Australia and overseas, as well as staking their claim as Australian festival favourites with numerous appearances at the likes of Splendour In The Grass, Laneway Festival and more. This month, Cosmo’s Midnight announced two intimate shows in Melbourne on February 15 and Sydney on February 17, taking it back to the club for one night only. Having sold out both shows in record time, Cosmo’s Midnight will soon take on a run of festival appearances in New Zealand, Thailand and the Philippines.

Calling for fans to stop thinking and start feeling, Cosmo’s Midnight and Franc Moody encourage you to check your mind at the door and free fall into ‘Fantasy’.
