A prolific alternative rock band formed in the early day of 2004, Devine Lie have spent the best part of eighteen years cultivating a sound that boldly explores current social issues, personal philosophies, and more surrealist dreams. Backed by a diverse style that incorporates both classic and contemporary genres, they’ve been championing the release of their tenth album, ‘Indelible Stain’, starting with the release of the brilliant lead single, ‘Feelings You Hide in Your Heart’.
Speaking about the new single on their website, Nigel Nicholls of the band explained, “For the past two years, I have been strategising ways to showcase the evolution of our sound. The chaos around the pandemic and the subsequent decisions that world governments made in response to this really inspired me to begin writing. The resulting isolation allowed me much-needed drive and time to focus on what it is that I wanted for the band’s future – which aspects of the vision I still resonated with and where I needed to make necessary changes to allow for the articulation of the evolution of our sound.”
“I realised that while my lyrics were still very influenced by current social issues, personal philosophies, and dreams, there was a greater sense of pain that I wanted to speak to on this album. This change is what I believe most of our listeners will notice from the offset with our first single, ‘Feelings You Hide in Your Heart’.”
