Aotearoa's award-winning artist Georgia Lines has unveiled her poignant new single 'Wayside', the final offering before her highly anticipated debut album, 'The Rose of Jericho', drops on the 7th June.
'Wayside' is a testament to Lines' raw honesty and vulnerability. The song, co-written with Grammy-nominated producer Leroy Clampitt, is an anthem of resilience, urging listeners to persevere through life's trials. Lines elaborates, "'Wayside' delves into the journey of facing obstacles and uncertainties, urging against complacency and not settling for the easy path."
This release follows two successful singles, 'Grow Old Without You' and 'The Letter', the latter having enjoyed an eight-week streak on New Zealand's RadioScope charts. 'Wayside' offers a final glimpse into the emotional depth and sonic landscape of 'The Rose of Jericho'.
Lines reflects on the album's creation, "I've poured a lot of myself into the songwriting of this album. It is honest and vulnerable, and dives into places in my own journey which I have written much of the album around."
Lines' burgeoning career is marked by numerous accolades, including a recent nomination for Best Pop Artist at the 2024 AMA’s and the title of AMA Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2022. Her captivating live performances have graced stages worldwide, from SXSW to BIGSOUND.
Beyond music, Lines is the host of the acclaimed web series INTROS, where she spotlights emerging female and non-binary artists. The 2024 season is now being hosted on Rolling Stone AU/NZ.
To commemorate the release of 'The Rose of Jericho', Lines will perform a special album release show in her hometown of Tauranga on 8 June. With its raw emotion and compelling storytelling, 'Wayside' sets the stage for what promises to be a remarkable debut album.
