A Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter capturing the more mythological side of music, James G Barry has swept into the spotlight with the release of new single, ‘Conga Ray’. A founding member of Crier Brothers, Empire Vista Social Club, The Ferro Alloy Orchestra, and the music director for ‘The Show Tonight’, a comedy/music showcase, James has carved out a unique path through New York’s music scene, and his new single proves to be a perfect illustration of his talents.
A guitarist since the young age of twelve, James is a true and undeniable musician, one who breaks down barriers and pushes his sound to every far-flung genre of music. As a solo performer, James has already released a string of impressive releases, capturing a wild, eclectic aesthetic that will appeal to every music fan. Starting with 2007’s ‘Wake Up Singing’, which came from an experience that he had at a Krishna Das performance in the East Village, and pushing through to the present day, James’ music surpasses all expectations and pre-conceived ideas to boldly make something new.

Alongside the release of the new single, James has also shared a very special animated video for the track, which he created alongside his bandmate David B Wilson and director Carlos Lamontini.
