Kings & Associates – ‘Neighbour’

An energetic band with a bold neo-soul sound, Kings & Associates have become one of Australia’s most exciting new acts. From their humble beginnings to winning three Australia’s BMA’s on the back of their acclaimed sophomore album, the band have championed a powerful and poignant style that is built on dual vocals, soulful instrumentals, and undeniable heart.

After first making their mark with the release of ‘Red Dress’, Kings & Associates have continued to impress fans and critics alike, capturing a sound that is genre-defying and utterly electrifying. Riding a wave of momentum, the band have become regulars at Australian festivals including Mordi, Blenheim, Echuca Semaphore, and Bendigo, and after triumphant performances at premier venues such as the Cherrybar, Lazybones, and the National Press Club, all eyes are firmly on the band for their latest release, the brilliant ‘Neighbour’.

Released in the closing months of last year, ‘Neighbour’ was belatedly launched due to impacts of COVID, but it’s since picked up pace, earning several thousand streams online across YouTube and Spotify. Armed with the band’s traditionally blues-driven sound, ‘Neighbour’ cultivates a textured and wonderfully timeless sound that gives us all a glimpse of what we can expect from their upcoming album.

Alongside the release of the single online, the band have also shared the official music video, which sees the band performing the track cut with visceral imagery, quick takes, and candid moments.

Alongside ‘Neighbour’, the band are also championing the release of ‘Red Dress’, the second cut to be taken from the upcoming album, along with their performances at the Gospel and Blues show ‘Take Me to The River’ at the Sunday Church in the Park service.
