Sydney-based artist SOMA has just released her latest single, 'Say It', a captivating blend of alternative hip-hop and futuristic soul. Produced in collaboration with the renowned Danny Duke (known for his work with Lizzo and Sampa the Great), the track showcases SOMA's unique artistry and fearless storytelling.
'Say It' is an otherworldly love story about an alien falling for a human, a metaphor for finding acceptance and love in unexpected places. SOMA's inspiration for the song came from a conversation about the transcendent nature of love, and the track embodies this concept with its sensual, intimate, and cosmic feel.
"'Say It' is about pushing boundaries while still remaining deeply human," SOMA explains. "Releasing it feels surreal. This single represents such a bold step for me as an artist—it's raw, emotional, and unlike anything I've done before."
The accompanying music video, directed by Frederick McHenry, further expands SOMA's creative vision. With dreamy visuals, glowing alien skin, and neon-lit cityscapes, the video is a love story told through the lens of surrealism, mirroring the song's theme of love transcending boundaries.
'Say It' is a taste of what's to come on SOMA's highly-anticipated debut mixtape, 'COBRA', due out on February 21st. The 11-track mixtape delves into themes of life, love, loss, self-discovery, and empowerment, offering a raw and honest glimpse into SOMA's journey of healing and growth.

The release of 'COBRA' will be accompanied by a 20-minute long-form film, also directed by Frederick McHenry, further amplifying the mixtape's emotional power and creative depth. To celebrate the release of 'COBRA', SOMA will be performing a series of special launch shows, including an official launch party in Sydney on Friday, March 7th.
