Pinning herself as a “mix of pop and a lil’ bit of RnB”, East Sussex’s Erin Bloomer has been carving a name for herself thanks to her crystal-pop vocals, relatable lyrics and polished melodies. After a brilliant career so far, including hit singles like ‘Therapy’, she’s back in the spotlight with the emotionally-charged ‘Wasted It On You’.
After launching her musical career in 2017 with her debut single ‘Right Love, Wrong Time’, Erin established herself as a new pop force, delivering soft, soothing tones, long, powerful notes and catchy sing-along choruses. Over the years, she’s evolved her pop sound into something more mature and emotive, blending it with poignant moments from her life along with influences from modern R&B.
In her new single, Erin explores an unequal relationship, where the love shared between partners isn’t always reciprocated as it should be. She explained, “Inspired by one of my followers, it's about finding out that you are way more invested in your new relationship than your partner, but you are fun and strong, and you are over it.”
As with her previous single, ‘Wasted It On You’ finds Erin addressing modern romance and the struggles the ensue, delivering a likable tune that is built on a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and tuneful melodies. You can stream the new single below.
Pulling from a range of iconic influences such as Lady Gaga and Queen, Erin has been musical from a young age, singing, playing piano and guitar as a child. It was a cover posted on social media that acted as a launchpad. Now, Erin has appeared on BBC Introducing and is pinned for big things as she releases more music over the coming months. With her sights set on Glastonbury, you better watch this space.
