Mote Unleashes Inner Storm with New Track, 'Torn of Wind'

Mote, the enigmatic artist hailing from Berlin, has recently shared his latest single, 'Torn of Wind'. This haunting track offers a raw and intimate glimpse into Mote's journey of self-discovery and acceptance, marking a bold new chapter in his musical evolution.

'Torn of Wind' is a captivating blend of dark introspection and raw energy. The song paints a vivid picture of a tormented figure wrestling with their emotions and desires, embracing their true self amidst the chaos. Think Joy Division meets David Bowie with a touch of Interpol's brooding intensity. This sonic landscape is no accident, with Mote citing these iconic artists as major influences on the track's sound and style. "Joy Division and Interpol inspired the sonic palette, that simplicity of drums, bass, guitar, and vocal," explains Mote, "while Bowie's influence lies in the way he tells a story of a character through his work."

The track was brought to life at The Animal Farm Studios in London, a city steeped in musical history. Recording in this iconic location, Mote felt the energy of the city and the spirit of musical legends like Bowie and The Beatles, who have walked those same streets. "There is definitely something special about recording in London," says Mote.

'Torn of Wind' is a deeply personal project, written, produced, and performed entirely by Mote himself (Joe Schneider). He poured his heart and soul into every aspect of the track, from the driving rhythms to the haunting vocals. Mixed by Mani Orrason and mastered by Zino Mickory, the song carries a unique blend of Berlin grit and London energy.

This release marks a significant step for Mote, who has chosen to release 'Torn of Wind' independently. "I've decided to release this single on my own," he shares. "I'm putting this music out because we are playing it at our live show, and I want people to be able to hear it when they go home. I'm not waiting for anyone to tell me it's ok. I want people to know who they are dealing with directly."

Mote is ready to take his music to the stage, with upcoming performances in Berlin at Badehaus on November 22nd and in Hamburg at Molotow on December 6th. "Torn of Wind" is a powerful statement from an artist embracing his true self and inviting listeners to join him on this journey of self-discovery. As Mote himself puts it, "I feel like I'm letting the world see me for real for the first time. 'Torn of Wind' is a glimpse of my dark side, which for me is a scary and exhilarating feeling."
