Penny Rich - If Everyone's An Expert...'

A band born from a shared passion for 90’s grunge, stark, explosive noise, and a need for raw, cathartic expression, Wales' own Penny Rich have arrived armed to the teeth with evocative melodies and introspective lyrics.

Since their formation in 2016, the band have been carving out an impressive path with the release of their previous two EPs, but now, they've upped the ante, setting a fire that burns brightly with their debut full-length album ‘If Everyone’s An Expert…’. Recorded with Andrew Sanders at Cardiff’s Kings Road Studio, the album is as loud and sonically dynamic as it is thought-provoking, crashing into existance with a sound that draws instant comparisons with IDLES and early Nirvana.

The culmination of many years of blood, sweat, and toil, the album offers a personal take on today’s polarised political climate, whilst also taking a deep dive into frontman Ant’s personal struggles. Intended to be as raw, honest, and self-critical as possible, the album is a full-throttle assault from start to finish, fusing scuzzy guitars, adrenaline-fuelled drums, throat-busting vocals, and vulnerable lyrics into ten honest and undeniable snapshots of modern life.

Since their formation in 2016, the band have been energising audiences across South Wales, sharing the stage with the likes of Death Cult Electric, Sœur and False Advertising, whilst tracks from their EPs 'Nomad' and 'Revolving Door' have been supported by the likes of BBC Radio Wales, with Adam Walton himself describing the band as ‘noisy and great’.
