The melodic Irish indie-rock band Powder House release their anthemic new single ‘My Corner’, out now via LMH Records. The new single is immediately captivating and the song has been likened to Snow Patrol and Kings Of Leon at their most rousing and anthemic.
Inspired by bereavement and loss, ‘My Corner’ is lyrically poignant. Musically, the song takes inspiration from less sombre tones with a nod towards 90’s alternative rock with distorted guitars and pop-lead rhythm parts. Powder House lead vocalist and guitarist Conor O’Shea said of the new single, “the song is a victory for brutal, unfiltered honesty and a silent yet ominous cry for help, backed by a dynamic soundscape that that cuts deep at the heart.”
Conor is joined by Brian McHale on bass guitar and Luke Dunne on drums and percussion. Hailing from Castlebar, Ireland, Powder House have shared the stage with acclaimed Irish singer songwriter David Keenan and just this week it was announced that they will be performing in the UK for the first time, supporting 90’s Brit-rock icons Hurricane #1 in Manchester on Saturday, April the 15th. Tickets for that show are on sale nowhere.
‘My Corner’ was recorded and engineered in Dublin by veteran producer David Virgin and his sons Rohan and Al. Their credits include work for INXS, Nick Cave, Cat Power and Billy Bragg. With a label and management in place, as well as their powerful songs, Powder House are set to blow up in 2023, both in Ireland and the UK.
