The Thieves, a London-based rock band, are on a mission to revive the glory days of headbanging, mosh pits, and unapologetic rock 'n' roll. Formed in 2022, the fourpiece of Zak Layden, Matteo Blasi, Luca Curtis, and Alex Laertis channel the raw energy of iconic acts like Motörhead, Mötley Crüe, and Guns N' Roses, while injecting their own modern twist.
Layden and Blasi, both music students, bonded over their shared love for classic rock and a vision of bringing back the electrifying atmosphere of the golden age. They soon recruited Luca Curtis on drums and Alex Laertis on bass to complete their lineup and unleash their sonic assault.
The band's debut EP, 'Never Enough', is a four-track testament to their commitment to loud, gritty rock. The EP kicks off with the infectious 'Breaking The Mould'. Opening with an almost melodic line, "I saw you standing over there, you're inviting me in with your stare," the song quickly explodes into a whirlwind of heavy guitars and anthemic vocals.
'Devil Hands' delivers a raw, punk-infused punch, while 'Cocaine Lorraine' is a defiant rock epic that showcases the band's songwriting prowess. The title track, 'Never Enough', closes the EP with a bang, leaving listeners craving more.
The Thieves' live shows are a true spectacle, with the band delivering an authentic 70s and 80s rockstar experience. Layden's charismatic stage presence, coupled with Blasi's blistering guitar solos and a healthy dose of on-stage antics, ensures an unforgettable night for any rock fan. If you're looking for a band that will leave you with a sore neck and their songs stuck in your head, look no further than The Thieves. They are the real deal, bringing back the golden age of rock 'n' roll one explosive show at a time.
