Kyle Charles Hall Returns with Introspective Indie Anthem 'see i'm OK'

After a two-year hiatus, Adelaide-born, Sydney-based artist Kyle Charles Hall is back with a bang, delivering the introspective indie-rock anthem 'see i'm OK'. This track marks the first taste of his upcoming sophomore EP, 'my head is a jungle in a deforestation way', and showcases Hall's growth as both a songwriter and producer.

'see i'm OK' dives into the complexities of post-breakup emotions, capturing the internal struggle of trying to convince yourself and others that you're doing just fine. Hall's conversational lyricism, delivered with a theatrical flair, invites listeners to share in his experience. The track's DIY indie-rock soundscape, reminiscent of artists like Dominic Fike, The 1975, and Last Dinosaurs, creates a nostalgic and charismatic atmosphere, further enhanced by the accompanying music video.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Hall explains, "It came at a time when I felt I didn’t know myself, nor where I was going. I had just moved to Sydney... I was going through a break up... and I was learning what it was to have those around you grow old. I wanted to write something that would validate my hurt whilst championing my sense of self."

This release marks a new chapter for Hall, who first gained recognition as the lead singer of Adelaide band Runaway Weekend. Their 2016 debut EP 'Deja Vu' and subsequent national tour supporting Chase Atlantic helped them build a dedicated fanbase. Now embarking on his solo career, Hall has quickly garnered attention for his anthemic pop sensibility, amassing over 300,000 streams with only eight songs in his discography. His music has received airplay on triple j and triple j unearthed, along with praise from The AU Review, Scenestr, and other media outlets.

Following his 2022 single 'in love, 23', Hall took a two-year break to refine his sound, culminating in the distinctive style showcased on 'see i'm OK'. He teased his return with a sold-out headline show at Oxford Art Factory in October, building anticipation for this latest release.

With its intimate and personal feel, 'see i'm OK' is a promising glimpse into Hall's upcoming EP. "It’s been over 2 years between releases for me," he shares, "but I am opening a new chapter and releasing my new single see i’m OK on November 15. Entirely self-produced, this track unravels an inner-monologue of thoughts post-breakup."

As Hall continues to navigate the complexities of life and love, 'see i'm OK' serves as a powerful reminder that vulnerability and self-acceptance can coexist. This is just the beginning of a new era for Kyle Charles Hall, and fans can eagerly await what he has in store next.
