Aotearoa-based producer Late June is set to release his new album 'Mending' on Friday, December 6th, via Believe. To mark the announcement, he has unveiled the ethereal track 'Focus', following the previous single 'Fragments', both of which will be featured on the album.
'Focus' is a captivating piece of ambient electronica that seamlessly blends lush, meditative soundscapes with driving dance elements. The track opens with swirling arpeggiated synths, instantly creating a tranquil sonic environment that is punctuated by thudding kick drums and crisp hi-hats. Reverberating piano melodies and stirring vocal samples add a hypnotic dimension, creating waves of intensity that ebb and flow.
Late June shares the inspiration and creative process behind the new single, sharing, "'Focus' as a song is about relieving the pressures of succeeding and having perfect friendships and relationships in life, and just putting more comfort and love into daily life. I wrote the 'Focus' chord progression in my head while staring at the waves at the beach, just at sunset golden hour, purple, golden light shining down with my daughter digging a hole next to me, smiling and asking me questions. I wrote the song late that night, from around 7pm till 4am."
Sonny Bevin, the artist behind Late June, has established himself as a prolific producer with a decade-long career.
