Rising Star Eli Dreams Big on Dreamy New Single 'One of These Days'

Australian newcomer Eli continues to build anticipation for his debut EP, 'I Can Be Whatever You Want Me To Be', with his latest single, 'One of These Days'. Released today via Mammal Sounds Records, the track takes a dreamy detour from the high-octane dance anthems of his previous releases.

Eli, the alias of Melbourne artist/producer Luca Pascucci, has carved a unique niche for himself, blending alternative-dance with the energy of club music and the frenetic edge of hyper-pop/punk. 'One of These Days' sees him slow the pace, offering a more introspective and laid-back sound.

The song's gestation was a curious one, written quickly in an hour or two with just a guitar, yet its production spanned nearly two years. This gradual evolution allowed Eli to infuse the track with a kaleidoscope of influences.

"Something a little slower. Not everything can be a turbo rush into a 180bpm four to the floor," Eli explains. "Many different artists were inspirations. I would really love some of Yung Lean’s slower stuff, so I would try to emulate the synth sounds he had on this track. A few months later I was really into Dean Blunt, so I wanted to add some acoustic elements at the end, so the acoustic kit and sax was added at the end."

The resulting soundscape is a slow-burning groove with hazy synths and a steady beat. It's a track that evokes a contemplative mood, inviting the listener to drift along on its mellow wave.

Lyrically, 'One of These Days' is an ode to ambition and the acceptance of the long road to success. "To me this song is about dreaming big, and being ok with the process of what that looks like. It takes time and effort but the process and the journey is always the best part," Eli shares.

With his debut EP just around the corner, Eli is poised to become one of Australia's most exciting new voices in electronic music. His unique blend of influences and willingness to experiment promise a debut full of surprises. As for 'One of These Days,' it's a captivating glimpse into his multifaceted sound, a testament to his ability to create both heart-pounding dance tracks and introspective sonic journeys.
