Armored Dawn - ‘Brand New Way’

A band who first emerged in 2014. Armored Dawn made their mark on the Brazilian metal scene in devastating form, unleashing a string of impressive releases and performing alongside bands like Saxon, Megadeth, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Europe, and more. Their first three albums, released throughout 2016 and 2019, set an uncompromising standard, and ever since then they have continued to carve out their own cataclysmic legacy.

Recently, the band have announced details of their highly anticipated fourth album, due for release in the second half of this year, and to help get us all ready, they’ve unveiled the title track for the album, ‘Brand New Way’. Released only a few days ago along with a stark music video, the new track sees Armored Dawn shifting into a more optimistic view of life, breaking away from the heavy, darker sounds of previous singles ‘S.O.S’ and ‘Tides.

Built around a central message that “we shouldn't let ourselves be overwhelmed by defeats or by those who want to bring us down,” the single reminds us all that there is always a new beginning and a new path to follow. In true form, it shows a noted evolution in the band’s sound, delivering a refined, and more pronounced sound that expands horizons and surprises those who aren’t yet acquainted with the band's music.

As with previous singles, ‘Brand New Way’ was mixed by Chris Lord Alge (Muse, Green Day, Nickelback) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Metallica). As is tradition for the band, the new single comes with a super-produced music video, which was directed by Rafael Agostino, the band's keyboardist.

A talented band of Eduardo Parras (vocals), Tiago de Moura and Timo Kaarkoski (guitars), Heros Trench (bass), Rafael Agostino (keyboards) and Chris Oliveira (drums), Armored Dawn have developed a titanic sound that has been described as “sophisticated and versatile metal”. They have had great success within their home country, and abroad, with releases like ‘Beware of the Dragon’ shown in all movie theatres in Brazil during the trailers for the movie Aquaman, in 2018.

In preparation for their highly anticipated fourth album, the band have been releasing a string of impressive singles, starting with ‘S.O.S’ and ‘Tides’. Now with the title track unleashed, the stage is set for the album to well and truly make its mark. Recorded at Dharma Studios, mixed by Chris Lord Alge and mastered by Ted Jensen, the album will be released later this year.
