Nolo Grace, a former executive turned electronic alt-pop artist and producer, has unveiled 'Alone in My Dreams', the lead single from her upcoming album, 'Eyes of the Dragon'. This track, along with the rest of the album, delves into themes of transformation and growth while embracing a spacey, avant-garde sound.
While Nolo Grace boasts a diverse discography, including collaborations with Sean Kingston and her project with her husband, Grace & Moji, 'Eyes of the Dragon' marks her debut solo studio album. Drawing from her journey of overcoming a turbulent home environment as a young adult, Nolo Grace has forged a multifaceted career spanning private equity, music, and social entrepreneurship. Her experiences serve as the foundation for creating ethereal, meaningful music that resonates deeply with her audience.
Influenced by trailblazers like Joni Mitchell and Bjork, Nolo Grace has cultivated her own distinctive style of indie-electronic music, weaving introspective lyrics that prompt listeners to contemplate their own paths and life's purpose.
'Alone in My Dreams' is inspired by recurring nightmares and reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland, exploring the concept of self-discovery through ethereal melodies and rapid tempo. “This song was inspired by the feeling of running and being chased, both literally and metaphorically,” Nolo Grace explains. “I used to have recurring nightmares of being chased through large complexes only to find myself returning back in a loop to the same spot. This song is about identity and finding your way, drawing on my spiritual and philosophical influences and references to more mythological tropes.”
Beyond her talent for channeling pain into soulful artistry, Nolo Grace possesses a keen eye for visual storytelling, which will be showcased in the music video for the single, available above via YouTube.
“The music video takes the idea of the song to another level, truly exploring the theme of transformation and multiplicity of self,” she explains. “I’m so grateful to have worked with Director John Frost on it, and I can’t wait to share it with the world.”
