Press Club Embrace Duality with New Single 'I Am Everything'

Press Club's latest single, 'I Am Everything', offers a raw and unflinching look at the human condition, acting as a powerful precursor to their upcoming album, 'To All The Ones That I Love'. Set to be released independently on May 2nd, the album promises a mature and genre-bending exploration of personal growth and reflection. This new single, however, zeroes in on the internal battle between light and darkness, a theme vocalist Natalie Foster articulates with striking honesty.

"It's about the way we carry both light and darkness within us," Foster explains. The track dives into the vulnerability inherent in facing life's challenges, highlighting the strength found in perseverance. It's a candid acknowledgement that life, while often difficult and overwhelming, holds intrinsic value for those willing to seek it. This isn't just a song; it's a visceral expression of the desire for connection, a yearning to be understood amidst inner conflict.

The song's creation, as guitarist and engineer Greg Rietwyk reveals, was a serendipitous process. A simple acoustic guitar loop, combined with an improvised drum track by Frank, formed the foundation of 'I Am Everything'. "I love the atmospherics on this song and it was particularly fulfilling to experiment with subtle and not so subtle vocal effects," Rietwyk states, highlighting the band's willingness to embrace spontaneity in the studio. Recorded at their own Footscray studio, with Rietwyk handling production and mixing, and mastered by Kris Crummett, the track possesses a distinct, authentic sound.

The accompanying music video visually reinforces the song's themes, adding another layer of depth to the band's introspective narrative. The release of 'I Am Everything' also heralds Press Club's return to the UK and Europe for their sixth tour, including appearances at festivals like 2000 Trees and INmusic. Bassist Iain MacRae expresses the band's excitement, stating they are “totally stoked to be heading back over to Europe for our 6th tour of duty! Time after time it just gets better, and we truly count our blessings to be able to meet so many incredible people and see so many new things - all in the name of rock and roll.”

Before embarking on their European tour, Press Club will celebrate their album release with two hometown shows at The Tote, solidifying their connection with their local audience. 'I Am Everything' is a testament to the band's evolution, showcasing their ability to craft music that resonates on a deeply personal level while maintaining their signature raw energy. It's a track that invites listeners to embrace the complexities of life and find beauty in its contradictions.
