Georgia Lines announces her debut album along with stunning new ballad, ‘The Letter’

Aotearoa’s award-winning artist Georgia Lines has released her first single of 2024, the emotive and soaring new track ‘The Letter’. Following the phenomenal success of her previous chart-toppers, Monopoly and Romeo, which both (on release) debuted as #1 Most Added song on the NZ Radioscope Charts, today’s release puts on full display the versatility and depth of Georgia’s songwriting skills. A heartfelt and emotive ballad, ‘The Letter’ showcases what Georgia does best; singing and playing piano, taking this release back to the gorgeous singer and songwriter craft of how she began as an artist.

Speaking about her return single, Georgia shared, “I am so excited to finally share ‘The Letter’, the first track to be released from my debut album! Making this album has been such an incredible experience… pushing my creativity and musical capacity to the seams and I’m deeply proud of the body of work I’ve created. It’s pretty special finally getting to start sharing what I’ve been working on for the past two years. ‘The Letter’ was written on my first writing trip to Los Angeles at the end of 2022 and for me is one of the most special, honest and deeply personal songs I have ever written.”

Written during the same trip where Georgia wrote the hit single, ‘Monopoly’, ‘The Letter’ was co-written alongside Ricky Manning and Whakaio Taahi. Mixed by Nic Manders and mastered by Kog Studio, ‘The Letter’ highlights Georgia’s unparalleled ability to create an intimate connection through her lyrics, with the track offering a tantalising glimpse into the musical brilliance that lies ahead for her debut album, 'The Rose Of Jericho' set for release on June 7th, 2024.

Also out today is the stunning, one-shot accompanying video for ‘The Letter’, which Georgia explained, “Our idea was to craft a beautiful, simple, yet captivating visual representation that gave room for the song to take centre stage.”

Georgia's success is not surprising, given her impressive track record. She was named the AMA Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2022, her EP 'HUMAN' topped the Official Top 20 NZ Album chart, and her lead single ‘Faith’ held the top spot on the NZ Airplay Radioscope chart for four consecutive weeks. Her live performances have also received critical acclaim, and she has opened for international acts and performed at various showcases around the world, including SXSW, BIGSOUND and Los Angeles iconic industry showcase, School Night.

This success was complemented by her electrifying showcase at SXSW, leading to her signing with Wasserman Music (Alex G, Billie Eilish, Caroline Polacheck, 100 gecs). The momentum from this event propelled her Spotify streams to an astounding 7 million. Recently, she completed her first US headline show at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, marking another milestone in her rapidly ascending career.
